- The Writer’s Grotto — classes
- Sackett Street Writers — online and in-person workshops and generative writing classes in New York
- Laura Davis — online writing classes and occasional in-person retreats; particularly for self-expression/self-exploration
- Left Margin Lit — a physical space in Berkeley where you can join as a member to write, or attend their in-person or virtual classes (which you don’t need to be a member to do)
- Lit Camp — classes, mostly online, although they are Bay Area-based
- Page Street — a physical space for co-working/co-writing, with two locations (San Francisco and Berkeley); they have various tiers of membership. Sometimes they offer a class with Lit Camp.
- Beth Pickens’ Homework Club or year-long program for writing a book called Parakeet
